Went to the postal office to pick up a couple of nice packages including this Super Nintendo NTSC-U version that i got for about 100€ (About 122$) shipping included. Pretty good price for a SNES in It’s original packaging with all the manuals, papers etc – except for the game Super Mario World, I already own two copies so no problem there.
Everything looks to be in pretty good shape, the console itself is in a very good shape except for some dirt and slight yellowing on the left side and some on the connector plate at the back.
Haven’t spent that much time playing on it since i don’t have that many games for it (Yet!) and the “Super UFO Pro 8” which enables SD card support that I’ve ordered will not arrive until around April 10th. The “Super UFO Pro 8” makes it possible to backup your Game Pak/Cartridge or game save onto a SD card. Run ROMS using original hardware and load translations for Super Famicom games. Will review it later on. The games i got now are, “Lord of the Rings”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and yeah, I’m so not gonna play any “NHL95” 😛 I also own “Chrono Trigger”, “Final Fantasy III”, “Mystical Ninja” and “Super Mario World” which are all great games, but they’re stashed in my old room 2½h away..
The only part i found a bit iffy was the AC Adapter that has a small crack and if you pull it you can see some of the inside. The screws are there, guess it might’ve taken a toll over the years being dropped perhaps. Nothing a little electrical tape couldn’t fix holding together 😉
Ah yeah, look at them stacking up nicely, like two power bricks in mating season 😛 Don’t you just love the background scenery with the euro sockets and yellowed antenna input from maybe the 60’s.
Time to fire it up and see if it actually works – And yes it does! At first when i had “Lord of the Rings” inserted i got just a black picture and i was like aaah 🙁 But nevertheless, it’s all working good so far.
Tried “Lord of the Rings” again and it works fine, just that when in the password menu, you can’t go back, wth! 😕
Anyways, here are some pictures of the package 🙂
